I like to get ideas in circulation. I think that self-help has frightened people with its certainties and with its dogma, but I am still attracted to the therapeutic ambition of culture. I still think that culture could and should guide us, and do that in a way that isn’t dogmatic. It could be playful and it could be helpful, without being prescriptive.
